What is the CIL?
The Center for Intersectional Leadership is a collective of individuals and leaders who engage in intersectional partnerships and collaboration to work together to address structural inequalities.
Who we are
The Center for Intersectional Leadership includes individual leaders and non-profit organizations who are pooling their voices, lived experiences, expertise and talents in an intersectional way to elevate marginalized communities, especially communities of color.
What we do
CIL provides Intersectional Training with the following key learning objectives:
- Developing an understanding of intersectional collaboration.
- Developing an understanding on how to explore and test ways to operationalize the concept of intersectionality in how they address social issues.
- Beginning to build a network of individual contributors, non-profit organizations and other influencers so they can work together using intersectional concepts.
Creating Spaces for Dialogue and Conversation
- Goal: Is to build networks with others and share our knowledge, community work, experiences and ideas to develop an intersectional voice by bringing together different communities affected by systemic inequity.
- Goal: Create opportunities to dialogue about (and identify action steps that can influence) systemic issues impacting marginalized communities.
Intersectional Coalition Building and Research
- Goal: An intersectional approach to addressing issues is both necessary and essential to ensuring we are addressing the root causes of inequity, leaving no one out of the formation of (and access to) solutions.
